Oil-free micronized titanium dioxide, zinc and iron oxides formula physically blocks UVA/UVB, visible and infrared rays to prevent sunburn, photodamage, freckling as well as uneven coloration. When applied it is clear but with rubbing, microcapsules of titanium dioxide and colored iron oxides burst onto the skin's cells giving the skin a slight bronze tint.
These microcapsules provide protection to those with visible light sensitivity such as patients with porphyia, drug photoallergies and patients undergoing Photo Dynamic Therapy (PDT). Additionally, it hydrates without clogging pores, smoothes and softens the skin.

Micronized Zinc and Iron Oxides, and Titanium Dioxide help block UVA and UVB rays along with visible light to prevent sun damage. Most sunscreens were initially developed to protect against burning and thus designed to protect against UVB rays (290-320 nanometers [nm]). Many of the newer sunscreens only protect to a wavelength of 345nm, falling short of full protection from UVA rays (320-400 nm), which can accelerate the aging of the skin.
